In summer and autumn there are countless sporting and cultural opportunities available to you to make your holiday in the “Adlerhorst” holiday apartment unforgettable. The region also offers you the culinary opportunity to get to know regional delicacies and delicacies.

Here are a few sporting examples:

The “Tauern Spa Kaprun” thermal baths and the lidos on Lake Zell offer a wide range of water fun and pure relaxation.
At the lake you can swim, dive, fish, surf, kite surf, sail, pedal boat or electric boat and much more.
In the thermal baths, 12 different pools, 10 saunas and much more await you on around 20,000 m2.

Whether you are an enthusiastic hiker or just a beginner – in the region around Zell am See everyone will find the right hike for their abilities and physical condition. From easy family hikes to strenuous high mountain hikes, you will find every type of hiking route in the mountains on the Pinzgauer Grasberge and the surrounding Steinberge. And climbers will also find a paradise of climbing tours with us.

The Schmittenhöhe is the ideal hiking area in summer and autumn for everyone who likes to be active in the mountains. Easy and difficult routes, routes for beginners and “mountain enthusiasts”, but also hiking tours with children are possible here. Of course, the mountain railways also run during this time and you can reach the summit relatively easily.
Children are particularly happy about the “Schmidolin’s world of experience” created for them or the off-road park. The “Schmittenhöhe” is also a perfect starting point for paragliders and hang-gliders.
A tip: You should definitely let yourself be spoiled in the alpine huts and mountain restaurants with regional delicacies and delicacies!

We warmly welcome cyclists/bikers. Zell am See and the region are a paradise for bikers. Everyone will find the right cycle route for them here. Whether in the valley just around the lake, along the Salzach on the famous Tauern cycle path or from the mountains on trails and lines down into the valley – there is something for everyone.

The Tauern Cycle Path:
The famous Tauern Cycle Path runs for a total of around 240 km from the Pinzgau town of Krimml to Bavaria.
Simply cycle along the Salzach in the direction of Krimml (also possible with children). You can take the “Pinzgaubahn” back, a narrow-gauge railway with a steam train – an additional experience.

Schmitten height:
Take the mountain railways to the Schmittenhöhe and cycle there on the marked cycle paths on the mountain to great views – a special experience!

Downhillers / mountain bikers:
These also get their money’s worth in the Zell am See region. Only a few kilometers away is the famous, World Cup-proven “Bikepark Leogang”. Here you can plunge into the depths on 13 different trails with your bike – or try it first.

Winter & spring

In winter and spring, skiing is the main focus, but in Zell am See and the region you can also go cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, ice skating, curling, and much more. an unforgettable experience!

In Zell am See and the region you will find the “Schmittenhöhe” (mountain railway 3 minutes’ walk from your holiday apartment) and various other ski areas that offer every skier and snowboarder – from beginners to professionals – the perfect slopes and ski routes.
In association with the Kitzsteinhorn glacier ski area and the “Skicircus Saalbach-Hinterglemm-Leogang-Fieberbrunn”, the Schmittenhöhe offers a ski pass that is valid in all three ski areas, the “Alpin Card”.

With 12 different pools, 10 different saunas, several bars and restaurants, the “Tauern Spa Kaprun” thermal baths offer the perfect relaxation from the various winter sports.

The indoor pool in Zell am See is perfect for families and is only a few minutes’ walk from your holiday apartment.

The Zeller See is also ideal for bathing in winter – here you will find die-hard athletes who “ice bath” in the ice-cold water. You are welcome to try it.

In Zell am See and the region you will find several ice skating rinks.
The ice skating rink in Zell am See is located in the middle of the city and is therefore also perfect for families. While the children are skating, the parents can watch the youngsters from one of the surrounding bars.

The region around Zell am See is perfect for a winter hike.
Countless, well-signposted winter hiking trails lead through the beautiful landscape. Here you can enjoy the view of the surrounding snow-covered mountains and ski areas.

If you prefer to roam across meadows and through forests, try a hike on snowshoes with a trained hiking guide – this is also an unforgettable experience.
